In Japanese, the word “picture”’ is translated as “shashin” which uses two Japanese characters, 写 and 真. When we combine these two characters, it means “to picture/mirror the truth.” Besides this idea, there is a word “photography” that has the meaning of graphing with lights. This art form seems to have two different ways to be seen. However, since it has historically been deriving by pictorial aspect, we can’t ignore its meaning of photographing. 

In this work, he turned the experiential world into a single object by capturing both subjectivity and objectivity. In other words, he captured something seeing him from outside of him, and something inside of him that sees the outside world.
